Dr. Lorraine Ann Stephenson is a board-certified adult nurse practitioner licensed in New York and New Jersey.

Dr. Stephenson earned a Master of Science in Nursing from Fairleigh Dickinson University and a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Rutgers University. Her academic accomplishments include membership with the Alpha Tau Chapter of the National Honor Society of Nursing and Sigma Theta Tau International.
With over 20 years of healthcare experience and expertise, Dr. Stephenson has engaged in diverse practice areas that include critical care specialty, emergency room, and telemetry with pediatric, adolescent, and adult populations.
Her resume also consists of working in addiction medicine, pain management, psychiatry, and orthopedic and neurosurgery. She has graciously served patients throughout the New York and New Jersey region.

Personal Trials & Tribulations
Dr. Stephenson was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer (TNBC) in 2021. Despite the harrowing effects of chemotherapy, radiation, and immunotherapy, she managed to preserve her business and expand to a retail space.
During this time, she participated in fundraising with the Susan G. Komen foundation. In 2024, Dr. Stephenson was blessed with the news she was cancer-free. She attributes this miracle to the grace and glory of God.
Dr. Stephenson has acknowledged many blessings in her life that have contributed to her success. During her adolescence, scholarship opportunities were made available to her and her siblings.

These opportunities were made possible by the kindness of local and neighboring community members and others who offered their financial assistance.
Dr. Lorraine Stephenson though the mission of education for all has funded the our now known Scholarship Foundation.
This scholarship is designed to assist high school students and college-bound students enter into through purpose throughout the United States and Jamaica.
Boost college attendance among youths in the community
The Dr. Lorraine Stephenson Fund aims to boost college attendance among youths in the United States of American and Jamaica that may otherwise lack the financial resources.
Financial constraints are a common barrier to access for many young people. Additionally, colleges often determine scholarships and admissions based on academic skills, community service involvement, religious affiliation, athletic skills, and natural talents such as playing instruments, singing, and dancing.
The Dr. Lorraine Stephenson Fund aims to focus on the community engagement of the student as well as their future career goals and aspirations.
Scholarship Requirements
There are three scholarship opportunities available through the Dr. Lorraine Stephenson scholarship program. These include high school scholarships, college-bound scholarships, and a $100 family give away.
- High school students must submit a 250-word essay that describes their educational goal and community participation.
- College-bound students are required to submit a 500-word essay that describes their educational career goal and community participation.
Community participation may include religious affiliation, sports, musical arts, and Volunteerism.
Impact and Success Stories
The first two scholarships were recently awarded. These scholarships were rewarded to Jerimiah Wilson and Chimeziri Okeoma. Okeoma was selected as an essay winner and is a recent graduate from Union Catholic High School in Scotch Plains, NJ.
She currently receive care in Survivorship care at Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital in New York City.
